This artwork is named after the smallest bird in the world, the hummingbird. The center of its range is the Caribbean equatorial zone. Most of the more than 370 species of hummingbird have colorful, shimmering plumage. The dynamic splashes of white paint on the artwork are reminiscent of the hummingbird’s breathtakingly fast flapping wings.
