The PFAUENELFE (literally: peacock elf) from the hummingbird family of birds floats lively and light as a feather through the air. The wings move so quickly that you can hardly make them out with the eye. We love this lightness and elegance which also inspired me to create this artwork.

PFAUENELFE belongs to the three-part KOLIBRI series, as do BIENENELFE (sold) and SCHMETTERLINGSELFE. The balance of black and white shapes embedded in different color patterns is a key design element in this series. Black contours and patterns form the basis. A cocktail of colors and delicate white shapes and clouds dance around it.
