The artwork builds a bridge to William Shakespeare’s comedy of the same name. Like the play, SOMMERNACHTSTRAUM combines elements of majesty, humorous playfulness and enchanting mysticism, while the color scheme transports the viewer to a sweet-smelling enchanted forest.

Hypnotic red and mystical black meet delicate pastel nuances. Brightly glowing flowers bloom in the dark. You can feel both the stillness of a summer morning and the loud exuberance of a summer night.

I made a great color discovery while working on SOMMERNACHTSTRAUM. The combination of emerald green with a hint of red and a larger amount of white has resulted in the beautiful light blue in the middle of the upper part of the artwork.
