Rhye is the name of a fantasy land that Freddy Mercury dreamed of in his childhood and which is featured prominently in the band Queen’s first hit: Seven Seas of Rhye.
The painting takes the concept of this fairytale place further and places it in an intergalactic setting. The color scheme is intended to suggest the idea that a kind of spring is reigning on Rhye.
